AC waiting rooms at HP bus stands soon, says minister
DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh transport minister GS Bali announced on Monday that airconditioned waiting rooms will be set up at bus stands across the state.
Addressing a press conference, Bali said that play areas for children would also come up at the stands. “Ultra modern bus stands are coming up at Manali, Una, Kullu and Dharmashala. These bus stands are being developed on Public Private Partnership (PPP) or Built Operate Transfer (BOT) mode by spending ₹155 crore,” said Bali.
He added that the state bus stand development authority is also developing bus stands at Hamirpur, Nalagarh and Baddi. The work in smaller towns like Chirgaon, Swarghat, Baroh and Kotli is also in progress, he added. The minister announced that 325 new buses will be added to the Himachal Road Transport Corporation’s (HRTC) fleet.
‘NEW BUS STAND AT HAMIRPUR TO START IN TWO MONTHS’
HAMIRPUR: The work for the construction of new and modern bus stand on Hamirpur bypass would start in coming two months, said GS Bali, HP transport minister after inspecting the site on Monday.
Bali said ₹10 crore had been earmarked for the project’s initial phase. He said that the designing of bus stand site had been completed and the work would be undertaken on war footing.
He said that since present bus stand of the town was congested, the state government decided to have modern bus stand for the town. He claimed that the construction of bus stand work was going on at Chamba, Rohroo, Chirgaon, Rajgarh, Ani, Nagrota, Theog, Swarghat and Nurpur and most of the projects had been completed and would be thrown open to the people shortly.
