BFUHS DETECTS 15 INELIGIBLE CANDIDATES, CANCELS SEATS
FARIDKOT: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, detected 15 ineligible candidates for state government quota seats during allotment of seats at the NEET counselling on Monday. Most of these cases pertained to candidates’ claiming seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) in Punjab, when they were actually SCs from other states.
We detected 13 cases related to SC certificates. They wrongly submitted their eligibility for Punjab seats under SC category seats. These seats have been allotted online to eligible candidates,” said an official.
University also detected a case where a candidate couldn’t submit the document of being a Punjab domicile.
Authorities claim that all the seats were allotted in the first online counselling on Monday, except 15% NRI quota seats in each college. The counselling for the NRI quota seats is scheduled for August 4.
Now, the list of candidates allotted seats for MBBS and BDS aspirants has been uploaded online at bfuhs.ac.in.
Despite repeated claims of the varsity that was verifying the documents at various levels, including at respective colleges and at the university, parents are anxious about candidates submitting multiple domiciles.
“As per a report, over 100 candidates who submitted multiple domiciles have been detected in Mumbai. Although no such case has been reported here, BFUHS should take necessary measures,” said Baljinder Kumar, mother of an aspirant.
BFUHS V-C Raj Bahadur said the university was well-versed with the eligibility criteria for candidates seeking seats in Punjab.
“Before the seat is allotted to the candidate and he/she is admitted, the university shall continue to verify the eligibility at university and the college level. In case, we find an ineligible candidate at any stage, the admission shall be cancelled. All admissions are provisional till the final registration,” said vicechancellor.
