Two of Lawrence Bishnoi gang arrested for gangster’s murder

CHANDIGARH: A team from the Sector 49 police station, Chandigarh, arrested two notorious gangsters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, involved in the murder 25-year-old gangster, Lavi Deora, in Kotkapura on July 13.

Inderpreet Singh, alias Perry, 27, of Sector 33, Chandigarh, and Bharat Bhushan, alias Bhola Shooter, 23, of Kotkapura, were arrested on Thursday on a secret informatio­n from near the Sector-63 gurdwara in Chandigarh. They were travelling in an i-20 car bearing a Punjab registrati­on number.

On search, the police recovered .315-bore pistol each from Inderpreet and Bhushan, besides live cartridges.

“During interrogat­ion, Inderpreet confessed to be a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi and had earlier helped him in escaping from Punjab Police custody near Landran in Kharar,” said Deepak Kumar, deputy superinten­dent of police (DSP south) Chandigarh .

“It was Inderpreet who had introduced Bhushan to Sampat Nehra and Deepak, alias Toni, on directions of Bishnoi. The trio had later shot gangster Deora,” he added.

Police said that Bhushan, Sampat Nehra and Deepak, alias Toni, were named as accused in the Deora’s murder. Police said on July 13, Sampat, Deepak and Bhola fired seven bullets at Deora.

On July 12, the police said, the accused Bhushan, Sampat and Deepak stayed at Inderpreet’s farmhouse at Boh villge in Ambala. After the murder, Inderpreet provided shelter to Bhushan, the police added.

“Inderpreet is wanted in many criminal cases in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Punjab,” said the DSP.

Inderpreet was involved in providing money, logistic support and communicat­ion between the gang members of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Police said that Bhushan had admitted to having killed Deora with the help of Sampat Nehra and Deepak at Kotkapura. He is also close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi and involved in cases of attempt to murder, dacoity and extortion.
