BATALA: Accusing Congress of practising vendetta politics in the state, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal launched ‘Jabar Virodhi’ movement from Dera Baba Nanak on Thursday to address the issue of alleged fake cases against SAD party workers.

Addressing a meeting with party workers at Hardowal village, Sukhbir Singh Badal said, during the first phase of the movement, he will organise constituency wise meeting with party workers and office bearers to mobilise them for the movement.

“Congress leaders are back to vendetta politics. SAD workers are being implicated in fake cases and maximum number of such cases are registered in Dera Baba Nanak constituency, which is represented by Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. That is why we have decided to launch this movement from this border town” said Badal.

Badal has also hired the services of legal experts in every district to fight the cases of the SAD workers in different courts.

Badal said, “From now on, we were going to keep record of all such officers, who are playing on the tunes of the Congress and implicating the SAD workers in fake cases.” Blaming Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Badal said, “In their election manifesto, the Congress promised many welfare schemes like reduction in power traffic but now they are mulling a hike. They might even roll back all the welfare schemes launched by the previous SADBJP government.”

Badal also met the family members of the party workers who are accused in the alleged fake cases.
