“In order to succeed in your mission, you must have single-minded devotion to your goals” — this quote by former President APJ Abdul Kalam reveals the secret of success.

Success in any endeavour requires single-minded attention, devotion and dedication towards the goal; but, in reality, life throws many distractions when we try to reach our goal. Someone who is singlemindedly focused has only one aim or purpose and is determined to achieve it.

In Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 11, verse 54, Lord Krishna emphasises: “O Arjuna, by single-pointed devotion, I am accessible.” Lord Krishna reveals the means by which we can access god’s cosmic form. “Ananya bhakti” or single-minded devotion is the only means to access “Ishvara”.

By undivided devotion, dedication and commitment we can achieve anything in this universe. Lord Krishna further says in Bhagavad Gita: “Only in this way you can enter into the mysteries of the universe.”

Meera’s mind was fully absorbed in Lord Krishna. She sang praises with a singleminded devotion towards him, only then did he shower his grace upon her. Singleminded devotion evokes grace. And for that, our dedication and commitment must be on one single goal, to the exclusion of everything else.

One idea, one project, one goal, one guru, one god, is the way to success.
