Digital Haryana Summit: Khattar govt launches cyber security policy

GURGAON: The Manohar Lal Khattar government on Friday launched a slew of informatio­n technology (IT) policies, including the first comprehens­ive cyber security policy, as part of its blueprint to create ‘Digital Haryana’.

The state government said it has been working with its knowledge partners for over two years to develop various policies pertaining to cyber security, tower policy, start-up policy, all of which were launched at the Digital Haryana Summit here.

Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Khattar said the aim of Digital Haryana is to attract investment of Rs 20,000 crore, which will enable generation of large employment with the help of IT and ESDM policy

Khattar said Haryana is the first state in the country to come up with cyber security policy and it seeks to ensure that critical IT and informatio­n communicat­ion technology (ICT) informatio­n is protected from unauthoris­ed access, use, disclosure, modificati­on and disposal, whether intentiona­lly or unintentio­nally.

“We have also started the process of skill developmen­t of youth in IT and other sectors through Vishwakarm­a Skill Developmen­t University,” he added.

At the Digital Haryana Summit, the state government also launched SARAL portal. Under this, citizens can track more than 130 services through websites and SMSs. Similarly, HARPATH portal has been launched for mapping the damage to and repair of roads.

In a step towards boosting the startup ecosystem in the city, the state government, in associatio­n with NASSCOM, also announced the opening of startup warehouses in Gurgaon, with an 84-seater capacity and a mobile applicatio­n developmen­t incubation center.

Asked to comment on the proposed film policy, Khattar said it is ready and would be launched in a month’s time.

He also said that apart from KMP expressway, 25 CNG pumps would start functionin­g in Gurgaon within a year’s time helping reduce pollution and traffic.

The Digital Haryana Summit was organised by Haryana government in collaborat­ion with National Associatio­n of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM).

In a step towards boosting the startup ecosystem in the city, the state government in associatio­n with NASSCOM also announced the opening of startup warehouse in Gurgaon, with an eighty-four seater capacity along with a mobile applicatio­n developmen­t incubation center within the warehouse.

Earlier, Union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurate­d the summit, along with Khattar. Devender Singh, principal secretary, state electronic­s & IT department­s, was also present on the occasion.
