KARNAL/KURUKSHETRA: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said the first BJP government in Haryana state has brought a big change in the state by eradicating corruption in government recruitments and grant of change of land use (CLU) certificates during its three-year rule.

Khattar, who addressed small gatherings during his road show from Yamunanagar to Karnal, said his government has ensured that government jobs are given as per merit. “People no longer need to run behind politicians for getting their children employed in government jobs,” he added.

He stressed the need for skill development among the youth to make them competent for jobs in every sector. “The government has a limited number of jobs as it can provide employment to about 15,000 people every year and can accommodate only 700 youths per district,” the CM said.

Reacting to the demand by his cabinet colleague Anil Vij that family members of Dera Sacha Sauda followers who died in firing by security forces in Panchkula on August 25 should be given compensation, Khattar said, “The government will follow the high court’s direction in the regard.”

He asserted that the state government will introducing e-trading in grain markets of the state, However, he said, it will be implemented from the next year due to protest by traders. The CM also announced a grant of Rs 10 crore for the Yamunangar municipal corporation (MC) and said the Tejali Sports Stadium would be developed as an open air stadium.

He said the state government has taken up the issue of construction of an expressway from Yamunanagar to Delhi, along the banks of Yamuna river.

Earlier addressing a gathering in Yamunanagar, Khattar said a joint meeting of industrialists and the town and country planning department would be organised to resolve the problem regarding violation of the industrial zoning plan.
