September 2017: A school girl in Sonepat’s Gohana district wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that a clerk and an accountant of her school raped her but the school principal and her class teacher failed to take an action. The two accused were

arrested. September 2017: A five-year-old girl studying in a private school in east Delhi’s Raghuwarpu­ra near Gandhi Nagar was raped allegedly by a peon on school premises. The police arrested him after the girl accurately described him to the police. July 2017: A 10-year-old girl was found to be eight months pregnant in Chandigarh. The police arrested a security guard who worked on daily wages at a hotel and lived in the same sector as the victim. He had allegedly raped the girl seven times.

July 2017: A man allegedly raped an eightyear-old girl in a public park in central Delhi’s Kamla Market while his own teenage daughter was playing a few metres away. The accused is a widower and lived with his two daughters.

July 2017: A five-year-old girl was raped by a 14-year-old Class 9 student in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Both the victim and the accused were neighbours and the victim often visited the boy’s house to play.

July 2017: A four-year-old schoolgirl was raped by the driver of a private school van in outer Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar. The girl, a nursery student, suffered injuries in her private parts and was admitted to a hospital. May 2017: A 21-month-old girl was kidnapped and raped allegedly by her neighbour in East Delhi. The toddler was found bleeding and admitted to a hospital with severe injuries.

January 2017: A 38-year-old man, father of five, was arrested for sexually assaulting school girls in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar. He trapped them by saying that their parents sent him or he lured them with some items.
