BATALA: The Opposition leader in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party(AAP)’s Sukhpal Singh Khaira, was in the city to inaugurate the party office.

Khaira accused chief minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh of allying with Akalis and not taking action against corrupt Akalis.

Khaira said, “The ministers and MLAs have lost faith in their CM as he is eating his own words of putting the corrupt Akalis behind bars.” Reacting towards the statement of local bodies minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Khaira said that he was surprised to read Sidhu’s statement of demanding the police department’s charge.

Sidhu has claimed that if he is made the home minister, not a single drug dealer or mafia will be spared or he will quit politics, quoted Khaira. “Sidhu’s statement is a direct attack on capabilities of the CM as Punjab home minister,” said Khaira.

“This is not the first incident when his own party men have questioned Captain’s claims. Recently, Amargarh MLA Surjit Singh Dhiman had publically confessed that the Congress government had failed to control drugs,” said Khaira. As many as 50 Congress MLAs have submitted a memorandum to the CM to take stringent action against Bikramjit Majithia but to no avail, said Khaira.

‘NON-COOPERATING PARTY WORKERS TO FACE THE MUSIC’

PATHANKOT: AAP Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann expressed anger here on Wednesday owing to the exit of many AAP leaders in keeping with the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypolls. Mann termed the AAP leaders as opportunist and claimed that the party’s disciplinary committee was working on the issue. The Sangrur MP said that the opportunist leader and workers have no place in party and they will face action.Coming down on both Congress and BJPSAD combine, Mann said that both the parties have done little for the state people.
