ROHTAK :To ensure that the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) is conducted in a fair and transparent manner and no candidate can use unfair means, as has happened previously, the Board of School Education, Haryana, will install 16 CCTV cameras and 15 mobile jammers in each of the 500 exam centres for the tests scheduled on December 23 and December 24. The mobile jammers will also be installed in toilets at the exam venues.

To prevent question paper leak, the movement of the vehicles carrying the question paper packets will also be tracked from the board headquarters to the exam centres using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.

REGISTRATION STARTS TODAY

The HTET level-3 exam (PGT lecturers) has been scheduled for December 23, while level-2 (TGT-Classes 6-8) and level-1 (primary Classes 1-5) exams have been scheduled for December 24. The online registration process will start from Wednesday. Around 6 lakh candidates are expected to register.

The board has also made Aadhaar card mandatory for the registration of candidates.

Board chairman Jagbir Singh said, “We will also install CCTVs. Using the GPS technology, if the box carrying the question papers is opened anywhere on the way, we will get a message here with the location.”

He added, “Since the government has done away with the interview process for selection, candidates may try their best to cheat. So, the board has decided to spend more on security.”

ENTRY VIA AADHAAR; LATE-COMERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED

“The candidates will enter the examination hall after registering their attendance on an Aadhaar-enabled bio-metric system,” Singh said, warning that late entries will not be allowed since biometric systems will be shut due to jammers.

Candidates will not be allotted a Centre in their hometown, but in their neighbouring districts.

In 2015, the board cancelled the HTET level-3 exam after the question paper was found to be leaked at an exam centre in Jind.

More than a dozen people have been arrested so far, in the case, including the masterminds and beneficiaries.
