CBSE INVITES APPLICATIO­NS FOR MERIT SCHOLARSHI­P

NEWDELHI: CBSE invites applicatio­ns from single girl children who have passed the CBSE Class X Examinatio­n with 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades and are currently enrolled in subsequent education.

The number of scholarshi­ps available every year is variable.

All single girl students who fulfill the marks requiremen­t and are studying classes XI & XII in CBSE-affiliated schools where tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500 per month during the academic year will be eligible for this scheme.

NRI students from schools affiliated to the board are also eligible for the award with the tuition fee for the NRIs being capped at Rs. 6,000/- per month. However, the scholarshi­p shall be awarded to Indian citizens only.

Those who have passed the class X board examinatio­n in 2017 will be eligible.

The scholarshi­p comprises a monthly payment of Rs 500 with the award under the scheme being paid for a maximum period of two years.

Renewal of the scholarshi­p will depend on promotion to the next class provided the candidate secures 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examinatio­n which determines their promotion to the next class. Further, good conduct and regularity are required for continuanc­e of the scholarshi­p.

The last date for submission of online applicatio­ns is 15 November and candidates must submit hard copy of the applicatio­n by 30 November.
