SBSNAGAR:A Rahon woman stuck in Saudi Arabia for the past three months will finally return home on Saturday.

Gurbaksh Kaur, 40, and her daughter Reena Kaur, 23, were promised job in Malaysia by travel agents in August this year. But they found themselves in the Gulf. According to reports, travel agents whom they had approached had fraudulently sent them to Saudi Arabia and were now demanding more money to bring them back.

While Gurbaksh will land at Delhi airport on Saturday, her daughter is still untraceable in Saudi Arabia.

The case came to light when Gurbaksh posted a video on the social media saying they were facing extreme difficulties and needed help.

Following media reports, Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh urged external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj to help the duo.

While Gurbaksh was sacked from her job, Reena had been framed in a false case and handed over to the police, who were not divulging any information on her whereabouts, Gurbaksh is reported to have said in the video.

Gurbaksh’s nephew Jaswant Kumar, 36, who is in Delhi to receive her, told HT over phone that family is thankful to the Punjab CM and the external affairs minister for reacting swiftly and helping in deportation of his aunt. The family says they have been promised safe return of Reena.
