Gurgaon school tragedy: Two theories

Pradyumn Thakur, a eight-year-old class 2 student of Ryan International, was found outside the school toilet on Sept 8, crawling and bleeding before he died. Gurgaon police arrested a school bus conductor for the murder. The CBI now says a class 11 student killed Pradyumn. HT examines both versions

7:35 am

The 8-year-old boy starts for his school in Bhondsi in his father’s car. His 11-yr-old sister accompanies him.

8:00 am

The father drops both the children outside the school. The boy and his sister rush inside holding hands. His sister leaves him outside Class 2B on the ground floor and goes to her class.

8:00-8.05am

Boy visits toilet, where bus conductor is waiting. The man tries to sexual assault him. He slits his throat, say police.

8:05-8.11 am

A gardener and some students of Class 1 spot the boy lying in a pool of blood. They immediately rush to find help and spot teacher Anju Dudeja in the corridor and inform her. Dudeja rushes towards the toilet and finds the victim lying wounded.

8:11-8.15 am

The school principal is infomed. The boy’s father is told to rush to Badshahpur Hospital. A little later, he is told to go to Artemis Hospital hospital instead

8.30 am

The boy is declared dead on arrival at Artemis. Police later arrest the bus conductor for the crime.
