Book on lost heritage in Pakistan launched at Partition Museum
AMRITSAR: The Partition Museum, under the aegis of Arts and Literature Festival of Amritsar (ALFA), hosted the launch of book, ‘Lost Heritage: The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan’, written by Amardeep Singh on Friday.
Member of Parliament Gurjit Singh Aujla unveiled the first look of the book here.
Singh’s book documents the tangible and intangible footprints of the Sikh legacy left behind during the Partition.
The author said the book was based on his visits to 36 towns and villages.
He said he travelled to 90 cities and villages for this sequel. He has documented religious places, arts, architecture, forts and living cultural aspects across all provinces of Pakistan in his book.
Appreciating Amardeep’s efforts, Aujla said, “Such literary events will highlight the forgotten heritage of Punjab and help in connecting the young generation with elements of our culture which were lost during Partition and in the aftermath.”
“I congratulate the museum team for hosting the launch of this book and may it continues to launch books along with presenting more such important cultural events,” he added.
Partition Museum CEO Mallika Ahluwalia said, “We hope to continue such discussions on the rich cultural heritage of Punjab through these festivals regularly.”
