ROHTAK : The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) said that they have registered no case of cheating during the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) level 3 (PGT), level 2 (TGT) and level 1 (primary) exams that were conducted in three shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

The HTET exam has previously been stung with paper leaks and several cases of copying.

This year, as the Haryana government cancelled interviews as the criteria of selection, the Board took extra care to ensure that exams were conducted in a free and fair manner.

Board chairman Jagbir Singh took rounds of several exam centres and said only deserving candidates will make the cut this time.

He said 8,800 CCTV cameras were set up across 543 exam centres in Haryana, which were being monitored at a hi-tech control room set up at Board headquarters in Bhiwani to check cheating and usage of unfair means.

Around 4.5 lakh candidates had applied for HTET, of which 90% appeared in the exams on Saturday and Sunday. For the first time, the Board had installed mobile jammers in toilets of the exam centres to ensure candidates were not hiding phones.

The entrance was allowed through an Aadhar-based biometric system.

The board officials have thanked Haryana Police for cooperation in security.
