Chadha Jr joins probe, is ‘clueless’ about father’s whereabouts
AMRITSAR: Inderpreet, son of former Chief Khalsa Diwan president Charanjit Singh Chadha who has booked for sexually harassing a woman principal, joined investigations on Tuesday.
Additional deputy commissioner of police-crime (ADCP-C) Harjit Singh said: “Chadha’s son turned up before the special investigation team (SIT) but he said he had no idea about the whereabouts of his father. We are conducting raids to nab him (Chadha).”
Police have issued a lookout circular against Chadha. Unconfirmed sources said Chadha has returned from abroad after his lawyers’ suggestion. It has also been learnt that Chadha has not filed any bail petition in a court.
Indepreet, who was booked for criminal intimidation along with his father, was granted an interim bail of four days on Saturday to join probe. The court had mentioned in its order that if allegations levelled against Inderpreet prove to be wrong in probe, then he will get full-time bail.
Efforts to get the first information report (FIR) in the Chadha case have booked proved futile. Islamabad station house officer Iqbal Singh said: “We have transferred the case to the Civil Lines police station.” When the Civil Lines SHO Shivdarshan Singh was requested to provide a copy of the FIR, he said, “The case was registered at the Islamabad police station, we have no FIR.”
CHADHA STILL CKD CHIEF ON WEBSITE
Though Charanjit Singh Chadha and his son Inderpreet have been expelled from Khalsa diwan’s primary membership, the CKD official website still shows the duo as president and vice-president, respectively.-
