Bhumika of CMCH bags top rank in MBBS final exam
LUDHIANA : Student of Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana, Bhumika Goel bagged first position with 683 marks in the final exam of MBBS, results of which were declared on December 29 by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot.
Two other students of CMCH Madhurima Barik and Kripa Anna Varghese bagged fourth and fifth position by scoring 641 and 638 marks, respectively. Madhurima obtained distinction in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Bhumika has done her schooling from Chandigarh and attributes her success to group study and discussion undertaken on regular basis.
She said correlating theoretical knowledge with experience of clinical side helped her understand the concepts better. Bhumika’s father Charan Lal Goel works with the Haryana tourism as a tourist officer and her mother Krishna Goel is a homemaker. Bhumika said that no one in her family has pursued medicine as a career and she will be the first one in her family to become a doctor. Bhumika aspires for a career in medicine with specialisation in neuromedicine.
Madhurima has done her schooling from Balangir, Odisha. She has been regular in her studies and practical classes helped her cover the syllabus. Kripa from Thiruvala, Kerala, feels that books and clinical postings played an equal part for her performance in the exams. Madhurima wants to pursue masters in paediatrics while Kripa is aiming to become an obstetrician.
