MINIMUM TEMP RISES IN PUNJAB

CHANDIGARH:The minimum temperatur­e in Punjab and increased modestly but cold conditions persisted in several parts, a MeT department official said here on Sunday.

The temperatur­e rose by up to three notches, but cold conditions have not abated in the states, the official said.

In Punjab, Ludhiana registered a low of 8.3° C, a notch above the normal. Patiala recorded a minimum of 9 ° C, while the minimum temperatur­e in Amritsar was at the normal level of 6.2° C.

Halwara and Faridkot recorded above normal minimum temperatur­es at 10.7° C and 9 ° C respective­ly. Gurdaspur recorded a low of 6.1 ° C.

However, Adampur and Bathinda experience­d cold conditions with the minimum temperatur­e settling at 4.9 ° C and 5° C, respective­ly.

Chandigarh recorded a low of 7.8° C.

In Haryana, Bhiwani registered a low of 11.3 ° C, two notches above the normal. Narnaul recorded a low of 8.8 ° C, while the minimum temperatur­e in Rohtak settled at 10.6° C. Ambala and Hisar registered a minimum of 8.1 ° C each.

However, Karnal experience­d a cold night at 6.5° C. PTI
