TEACH PEOPLE CIVIC SENSE

Littering has acquired menacing proportions, particularly in view of the rampant use of plastic. Be it roadsides or public parks, plastic and cardboard bags, and empty water bottles are are littered everywhere. No one cares to close a running water tap or switch off lights/ fans at public places. Standing in a queue is considered beneath one’s dignity. This is because no one is being taught civic sense or good manners. We must have a module on teaching such basics in our schools. Col AS Sohal, Mohali
