36-yr-old arrested for killing Kangra girl

SHIMLA: A day after police recovered the body of 20-year-old girl from a forest near Kotla in Kangra district, a 36-year-old man was arrested in the case.

The victim was a student at a nursing college and had gone to the house of her sister’s in-laws. She had returned from there on February 4 but did not reach home, following which the father of the victim had filed a missing complaint at Kotla police station on February 6, said a police official.

On Saturday, some locals informed the police about a body of a girl lying in the forest of Kotla.

A murder case has been registered and a local man has been arrested in this case, said Kangra superintendent of police (SP) Santosh Patiyal.“While, the interrogation is on, the accused has confessed his crime. The accused was the brother of victim’s aunt, he said.
