36-yr-old arrested for killing Kangra girl

SHIMLA: A day after police recovered the body of 20-year-old girl from a forest near Kotla in Kangra district, a 36-year-old man was arrested in the case.

The victim was a student at a nursing college and had gone to the house of her sister’s in-laws. She had returned from there on February 4 but did not reach home, following which the father of the victim had filed a missing complaint at Kotla police station on February 6, said a police official.

On Saturday, some locals informed the police about a body of a girl lying in the forest of Kotla.

A murder case has been registered and a local man has been arrested in this case, said Kangra superinten­dent of police (SP) Santosh Patiyal.“While, the interrogat­ion is on, the accused has confessed his crime. The accused was the brother of victim’s aunt, he said.
