REMOVE EGO FROM YOUR LIFE TO ATTAIN GENUINE MENTAL PEACE
The word victory is generally associated with war and in our mind we often visualise scenes of bloodshed and battles. And when we think about the achievements of scholars, researchers and social reformers, we think of their work which they did for the betterment of the society. However, world peace can hardly be achieved. There are too many differences between all of us. There is too much hatred, intolerance, and misunderstanding.
But there are always exceptions. Think of Kailash Satyarthi, India’s children’s rights activist and Mother Teresa, who devoted her entire life to helping destitute people. Rabindranath Tagore raised the issue of self respect. He believed in the philosophy of human love above everything else. Even Mahatma Gandhi is known for his contribution to society, strongly advocating equal rights. The Mahatma launched multiple movements with thousands of followers using the tenets of non-violence.
All these personalities have made a difference to the society. We should mark their victories of peace as more glorious than the victories of war. It is an inner state, independent of circumstances and external conditions. A peaceful life is when you remove ego and all your desires. If we look at our life as a series of experiences, we will appreciate the importance of our thoughts and emotions as we go from one day to another.
