KARNAL: Farmers’ union leaders in the state are running from pillar to post to mobilise people for the Delhi gherao programme on February 23 to protest the non-fulfilment of their demands.

From social media to door-todoor campaigns, farmer leaders are using all ways possible to ensure a huge gathering so as to pressurise the government to give them a complete loan waiver and implement the Swaminathan Commission recommendations.

The union leaders are alleging that government is trying to suppress their agitation by issuing orders that the government property of the farmers will be sold to recover losses in case of damage to public and private properties during the protest.

The BKU leader also said that lakhs of farmers from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat and other states will participate will reach Delhi to join the protest under the banner of Rastriya Kisan Mahasangh.

The farmer leaders of six farmer unions from Haryana and four farmer unions from Punjab and Rajasthan will also reach to Delhi via Haryana to participate in the day-long protest.
