WOMAN, SON STABBED TO DEATH

A woman and her minor son were stabbed to death at their house in Basant Nagar here on Saturday evening over a dispute about a sexual harassment allegation by the family against the accused.

Profusely bleeding Seema, 47, and her son Harsh, 13, were rushed to the civil hospital by their neighbours, but both were declared brought dead there. A large number of the family's sympathisers and relatives reached the hospital and accused the police of sitting on a complaint by the victim family against the accused alleging that they could be harmed physically.

SSP J Elanchazhian arrived in the hospital to pacify the aggrieved party.

Deceased Seema's daughter Hina, 15, revealed that she had to lock herself up in a room to save her life. “Lovepreet (alleged accused) barged into our house with a dagger in his hand. He first killed my brother and then attacked my mother. I ran into another room and locked myself," she stated.

Her father, Rajinder Sharma, a tempo driver, who was not home at the time of the incident, alleged that he had filed a complaint against the accused a long time ago, but no case was registered against him.

He claimed that Lovepreet and his family had been threatening them. Police sources revealed the opposite party too had filed a counter-complaint against Rajinder Sharma. Both parties were related to each other, they informed.
