Teenager detained for raping 4-yr-old girl in Yamunanagar

KARNAL: A 16-year-old boy has been detained for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl at Munda Mazra area of Azad Nagar colony in Yamunanagar.

Yamunanagar city SHO Om Prakash said the mother of the girl filed a complaint with the police that her daughter was raped by a Class-10 student, who lives in her neighborhood.

As per the complaint, the victim was alone at her house on Friday evening, when the accused lured her with sweets and took her to his house and raped her. Later, the girl disclosed the matter to her mother.

The police detained the accused, whose name has been withheld as he is minor. He has been booked under Section 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The girl was sent for the medical examination to the civil hospital in Yamunanagar.

The SHO said the doctors, who conducted the medical examination, could not ascertain rape yet and the police have sought the opinion of the forensic science laboratory (FSL), Madhuban.

He said at the police will take further action after the FSL report comes. The victim and the accused are both children of migrant labourers, who work in local plywood units.
