₹6 lakh looted by armed men in J&K’s Shopian
SRINAGAR : Armed men on Monday waylaid a vehicle and robbed an employee of J&K Bank of ₹6 lakh in south Kashmir’s Shopian.
A police spokesman said that armed robbers took away the money from a private vehicle of a J&K Bank employee at Kapran, Shopian.
The spokesman said that a case has been registered and investigations have been initiated to look into the incident.
A police official said that the bank was carrying the money from Neelu Branch in Kulgam to Kapran branch in Shopian, some 20 km distance, in a private vehicle without any security.
