ANGER BRINGS DISASTER, SAYS DALAI LAMA

-

JAMMU: The 14th Dalai Lama on Saturday traced out the ‘veryvery close link’ of Tibet with Jammu and Kashmir.

The Buddhist spiritual leader, while hinting at the restive Jammu and Kashmir, also had a word of advice for all saying, “Even a difficult situation can be solved through peace of mind... Anger always brings distaster.” Dalai Lama reached here in the winter capital to attend the first convocation of the Central University of Jammu on Sunday.

When asked for his message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “Wherever I go, I always express that we are the same human beings. As a matter of fact, seven billion human beings….we are the same, mentally, emotionally and physically.”

He further said that everybody wants happiness and joyfulness.

“The foundation of happiness and joyfulness lies in peace of mind. Now, here with people in Jammu and Kashmir… historically we have had a very-very close link. So I want to express special greetings and my prayers (for the people of the state),” he added. “And of course it is quite clear that the state is also a complicated one. Now, anyways peace of mind is very important. No matter how complicated and difficult the situation is, you should keep peace of mind. You should not let anger (get hold of you). Anger always bring disaster,” he said.
