RSS backs demand for deportation of Rohingyas
JAMMU: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), regarded as BJP’s parent organisation, on Saturday demanded that the illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh be deported.
The RSS also described them as a security threat in the country, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing media persons here, RSS prant sanghchalak, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh said, “The RSS does not consider Rohingyas and Bangladeshis as refugees as they are foreigners and have entered India illegally.”
He further said that the state and the central governments should identify the illegally settled foreigners and send them back. “Why should we tolerate them when they pose a security threat to the nation as well as the state,” Singh asked.
He lashed out at the previous UPA government at the Centre and National Conference-Congress coalition government in the state for allowing Rohingyas to settle down in Jammu in the first place. “They are fully responsible for the present imbroglio. What is their motive behind settling them in Jammu is best known to them. Whereas we see their presence as a threat and want their early eviction,” said Singh.
Prant karyawahak Parshottam Dadichi, who also addressed the media, said there were about 300 RSS shakhas (branches) in the state. “We are waiting for the day when shakhas will be opened in the Kashmir valley as well, when the people there will come forward on their own and ask us to open our shakhas there.
We are sure that day is not far,” he said, adding that in the meanwhile they wanted peace to return to the Valley as soon as possible.
