Leading the way with 26 Awards & counting…

-

The Made-in-India Jeep Compass by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is India’s Most Awarded SUV with 26 awards under its belt in 2017. The Jeep Compass, with its sharp styling, premium feel, sophistication and 4x4 capability, recently won the automobile and technology awards from various print, broadcast and online media titles in the country.

Out of the 26 awards, the Jeep Compass has won seven ‘Car of the Year’ awards and a further 19 awards out of which 15 were ‘SUV of the Year’ honours. FCA won awards for its Jeep Compass marketing campaigns including ‘Best TVC of the year’ from NDTV Car and Bike, ‘Digital Marketer of the Year’ from IAMAI, ‘Gold in Excellence in Digital Marketing’ from DIGIXX, ‘Buzziest Brand in 2018’ from AFAQS and ‘Most Engaged Brand on Social Media’ from Campaign India. The Jeep Compass digital campaign went on to become a Facebook case study.

Commenting on the awards, president and managing director, FCA India, Kevin Flynn says, “We are incredibly proud to have won so many prestigious awards for the all new Jeep Compass, within seven months of its market launch. Thanks must go not only to the judges, but also to the thousands of employees across India who have worked tirelessly to deliver the Compass – from research and development, quality, engineering, manufacturing and commercial operations. As a collective team, we are honoured and humbled.”

The SUV crossed a production milestone of 25000 and also a significant export milestone by shipping more than 5000 of the SUVs to mature automobile markets such as Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom, with more orders coming in from other right-hand drive markets across the world, which are being fulfilled by the Company’s manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, near Pune.

Hitting the sweet spot with the price

What made the Jeep Compass click in India was the product’s strengths which include vehicle integrity, superior engineering and FCA India’s clever pricing strategy. The Compass created a new segment with its pricing, becoming a new force to reckon with in the SUV marketplace. The Indian market had the appetite and eagerness to embrace a premium 4x4 SUV. When FCA launched and announced the price of the Jeep Compass in India on July 31, 2017, it made waves and set a whole new level of aspiration in the market.

Luxury with power

JEEP did not sacrifice the good looking genes when it came to building the Compass, a chip off the Grand Cherokee block. The car sits high off the ground and is powered by a powerful and refined 2.0 Multi-jet II Turbo diesel engine that generates a healthy 173hp and 350Nm of torque. There’s also the option of a 1.4 Multi-Air turbo-petrol that generates an impressive 163hp and accelerates to 100kph in 10.29sec.

Not just good looking, off road like a boss

The Jeep Compass crawls through everything with deceptive ease. Its Jeep Active Drive 4x4 sends power to the front axle for efficiency but when more traction is needed, it sends power to the rear. 100 percent of the torque generated can be sent to any of the four wheels required, just the kind of stuff that helps it be the perfect off-roader. It also comes with the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system that adjusts torque split, traction control and electronics for maximum tractions in conditions like snow, sand and mud – with 4x4 mode on the go, making it really capable off the road. Its longtravel suspension with Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) ensures maximum absorption of undulations and other off-road conditions. It even has an impressive 330m wading depth, and its clearance stands at 208mm. Normal driving conditions uses the ‘Auto Mode’.

THE WINNER HAS IT ALL

The Jeep Compass is a premium, sophisticated and capable SUV with Jeep’s legendary 4x4 DNA. Everything on the inside is executed to such a high level that it exudes a genuine Premium SUV vibe. The soft-touch materials, supple leather, superbly-finished bits of chrome and a build that’s solid and safe – all leave a lasting impression. The cabin is thoroughly practical, as well. It has over 50 safety and security features. The Electric Parking Brake, Four-channel ABS and ESP are standard across the range, but you also get Panic Brake Assist, Hydraulic Booster Failure Compensation, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Electronic Brake Pre-fill and six airbags. Owning the Jeep Compass means you have been permanently etched in the history books of the Jeep brand, a brand which is known to have given birth to the very lifestyle called
