: On the occasion of the Baisakhi, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) organised a political conference at Gurdwara Chohla Sahib here on Saturday.

Hundreds of SAD workers participated in the conference, which was led-by the party’s senior leader and MP from Khadoor Sahib constituency, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and his son and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura.

The MP greeted people and conveyed his good wishes. Lashing out on the Punjab government, he said the state government has failed on every front.

Before coming to power, the Congress made luring promises to people of the state but even after the span of a year, not even a single pre-poll promise has been fulfilled.

He said, “The SAD looks forward to the present Punjab government to fulfil its promises as outlined in their manifesto. In case, the Congress government in the state fails to provide employment to the youth and is not able to implement the waiver to the farmers, it will not be allowed to function in a proper way.”

Ravinder Singh Brahmpura said the Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki failed to get even a single penny from the state government for the development of Khadoor Sahib constituency.

He said during the SAD government’s regime, the constituency was flooded with development grants.

The SAD leaders Gurbachan Singh Karmowala, Dalbir Singh Jahagir, Gurinder Singh Toni, Kanwar Sandhu Brahmpura and Damanjeet Singh were also present at the occasion.
