Imran Khan’s third marriage on the rocks?

-

Pakistani cricketerturned-politician Imran Khan’s third marriage has run into trouble with his wife Bushra Maneka moving to her parents’ home more than a month ago following a “dispute”, according to a leading Urdu daily.

Maneka left Khan’s sprawling house at Bani Gala on the outskirts of Islamabad after he objected to her son from an earlier marriage staying at the home for a long time, the rightwing daily Ummat reported.

Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, married Maneka – whom he calls his spiritual guide and is also known as Pinki Pir – in February.

There was no word from Khan or his party on the development, which created a buzz on social media on Wednesday. The newspaper quoted family sources as saying that Khan and Maneka had reached an understanding whereby Maneka’s family members, including her children from her earlier marriage, would not spend too much time with their mother.

The daily also reported that the return of Khan’s dogs, and the arrival of his sisters to oversee the renovation of the house at Bani Gala, were indications that Maneka would be away for a longer period than usual.

The dogs were earlier expelled from the home because Maneka considered them unclean and thought they interfered in her religious activities. Khan recently negated rumours about kicking out his dog Sheru, saying the pet in question had died a few years ago.
