Pakistan hands over 21-year-old MP boy to BSF at Attari border
: Pakistan Rangers on Thursday repatriated Madhya Pradesh (MPs) lad, who had crossed the border inadvertently from Rajasthan in 2013, to the Border Security Force (BSF) at Attari border, on Thursday afternoon. Jitendra Arjunwar, 21, of Seoni in Madhya Pradesh (MP), had reportedly drifted 25 km inside Pakistan in search of water and was arrested on August 12, 2013 by the Pakistan Rangers.
According to sources, his prison term ended in 2014, but he continued to be in Pakistan as his identification process was not completed. Arjunwar was handed over by Pakistani Rangers’ inspector Ashrif to the BSF’s assistant commandant Nirmaljit Singh. He was received by the BSF and officers of the district administrations with garland and sweets.
As soon as Arjunwar reached the Attari border, he was taken to Amritsar civil hospital, considering him unwell. While talking to media, Arjunwar said, “I don’t know how I reached Pakistan. I faced lots of problem upon my return. Pakistani agencies suspect that I am working for RAW while the other thinks, I work for ISI. I don’t know what is happening? .”
He said, “In Jail, I was kept in seclusion while other inmates in a hall. I was allowed to go out of the jail for an hour only in a day. Jail authorities had not tortured me but officials of intelligence agencies did.”
