In MP, student gang-raped, another minor found dead

BHOPAL: A class 10 student was allegedly gang-raped for three days in a jungle in Mandsaur district while a minor girl was suspected to have been raped before being murdered in Satna, police said on Sunday. In a third incident, a woman from Bhopal preparing for civil services exam alleged that she was raped for two years by a man on the pretext of marriage, police said.

The victim of gang rape lived in a village in Mandsaur and on her way back from school was offered a lift by two acquaintances. Later, three others joined and took her to a jungle where she was gang-raped for three days.Her parents lodged a “missing person” report with Seetamau police station on the night of May 15. She returned home on May 18 and narrated her ordeal to her parents. Mandsaur SP Manoj Singh said all the five accused had been arrested.

In the Satna incident, the semi-naked body of a minor girl was found on the terrace of her house by her parents on Saturday night. Police said the 14-year-old’s parents were not at home when the incident happened.

When they returned at night, they found the main door open and their daughter’s body on the terrace, wrapped in a bed-sheet and with only her upper garments. Satna SP Rajesh Hingankar said the body had been sent for post-mortem. In Bhopal, a 27-year-old woman preparing for IAS exam lodged a report with police alleging she was blackmailed and raped for two years on the basis of an MMS.
