We have ended discrimination in govt jobs: Khattar
KARNAL: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday assured that his government has managed to end discrimination in government jobs and said the appointments were now being made on merit basis.
“Youths from all caste and communities have got government jobs as per their eligibility. In fact, around 200 youths from Bairagi community have been appointed,” Khattar said, while addressing a gathering during an event organised in Panipat to mark the 302nd martyrdom day of Veer Banda Bairagi (also known as Banda Singh Bahadur, who was a Sikh military commander).
The chief minister said an amendment in the Dohlidar (Land) Act will also be considered and the possibility of inclusion of Bhondedar in this act would be examined.
He said the government had already opened Antodya Bhawan in seven districts and more such centres would soon be set up in remaining districts to help the people to get benefits of government schemes.
Khattar, while praising the contribution of the Bairagi community, said 749 soldiers, who sacrificed their lives with Banda Bairagi, belonged to entire country, not to a particular community and caste.
He also announced to establish an ITI in Barna village of Karnal, a community centre in Sonepat and said one gate each at Kapal Mohan-Lohgar and Shahbad-Brara roads will be named after Banda Bairagi.
