National Conference’s vice-president Omar Abdullah once again sought dissolution of J&K legislative assembly by raising apprehensions of horse trading. Even as the PDP on Thursday termed the news about some party legislators meeting Omar and the Congress leadership as baseless.

After the imposition of governor’s rule in J&K there were rumours that five PDP legislators held a meeting with Omar at Gupkar. However, any meeting with the PDP legislators was denied by Omar on social media. On Thursday morning, news started making rounds in the Valley that four to five PDP legislators will meet the Congress leadership in Delhi and they will join the party. The PDP legislators, however, also denied all speculations. “We vehemently deny these news making rounds in the social media platforms. All our legislators are in touch with each other. And there is nothing like what is being spread,’’ PDP chief spokesman, Rafi Mir said.

He, however, said Omar’s apprehensions are in reaction to what former deputy CM Kavinder Gupta had said. Omar has apprehensions of horse-trading but I think there is no such possibility in this scenario and our legislators will not go with anyone.’’

On Wednesday, Gupta had hinted that party is looking for an arrangement to form the government which led to speculations that the BJP will try to take a chance to form government after some time.

Meanwhile, Omar called for dissolution of the legislative assembly, instead of keeping it in suspended animation. “Then why not dissolve the assembly? If @rammadhavbjp is true to his word that there is no question of horse trading & clearly no new alliances are being formed then the assembly should be dissolved. Keeping it suspended has encouraged dalals,” he wrote on Twitter in response to Ram Madhav’s statement in which he said Omar should not feel worried if he is sure his men are loyal to him.

Meanwhile, J&K Pradesh Congress president, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, said, he will attend the all-party meet called by the governor, if it will be on the current political situation in the state.
