2 booked for raping minors

GURUGRAM: The police have booked a 24-year-old man for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Sector 56. A case was registered against the accused who works as a labourer. He is also alleged to have threatened to kill the victim. Police said he is on the run.

According to the police, the neighbour allegedly raped the victim, who was alone in the hutment in the slums of Sector 56 last month, while her parents were away for work.

The victim disclosed the incident to her parents after a month, on Friday, after the accused tried to molest her. They then informed the police.

“The accused is at large and we are conducting searches to arrest him. The victim is from West Bengal and had been working in the city for the last two years,” Arvind Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Sector 56 police station, said.

A medical examinatio­n of the victim on Saturday confirmed that she was raped.

In another incident, a 15-yearold boy was booked for allegedly raping a minor girl on Friday evening in Pataudi.

The accused and the victim had been friends for the last two years, police said. They said the juvenile is a student of class 11.

According to the police, the accused, a resident of Heili Mandi village, came to Pataudi to meet the girl near the village temple and lured her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her. When the victim did not return home till late evening, the parents started searching for the girl and found her near the temple. She narrated her ordeal to her family members.
