CM GIVES NOD FOR ₹100 CR BIOCNG PLANT IN SANGRUR

Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday gave approval to a German company’s project for setting up a ₹100 crore bio-CNG (compressed natural gas) plant at Bhutal Kalan in Lehragaga block of Sangrur. The CM handed over the approval letter to Verbio director Oliver Luetdke at a meeting here. He also gave in-principle approval to nine more such plants which will come up in other parts of the state at an investment of ₹900 crore, with direct employment potential of over 5,000 persons, said the spokespers­on. The upcoming plant at Bhutal Kalan will produce 33,000 kg bio-CNG and 45,000 tonne organic manure annually.
