Charges of graft in medicine purchase baseless: Mohindra
CHANDIGARH: Health minister Brahm Mohindra on Wednesday said there was no merit in Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) legislator Simarjeet Singh Bains’ allegations of undue favour being extended to a firm in purchase of medicines to treat drug addicts.
“It’s surprising that the MLA should level such allegations without verifying details from health officials. Had he cared to know about purchase procedure followed in past and the rates at which medicines are purchased, it would have been clear to him that the allegations are devoid of merit,” he said in a statement.
Bains, in a letter to the CM on Tuesday, had demanded his intervention in medicine purchase, expressing doubts about the procedures followed. HTC
