MORE CCTVS TO BOOST GGM SURVEILLANCE
CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar has sanctioned ₹25 crore to install CCTVs under a city-wide surveillance and traffic management system in Gurugram.
A government spokesperson said the amount will be provided by the home department and other expenses under this project will be borne by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).
The spokesperson said the authorities have identified crimeprone and sensitive areas to install the CCTVs across 21 spots.
This project, called Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), cameras, red light violation detectors (RLVD) and speed violation detection equipment will be deployed at high-priority junctions.
Similarly, ultra high definition cameras will be put at high crimesensitive areas, besides fixed-box cameras at entry and exit points.
General surveillance cameras will be deployed at underpasses.
“LED screens will be installed at police headquarters and at Integrated Command and Control Centre to act as central location for monitoring of video feed,”the spokesperson said, adding that 61 pilot CCTVs were installed and commissioned in January under the pilot project undertaken by MC in collaboration with Gurugram police.
