HISAR: Terming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government as a “failed experiment” in Haryana, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday said the people of the state have already made up their mind to vote out the BJP in the coming assembly elections and bring the Congress back to power.

Hooda stated this while addressing public meetings during his ‘Jankranti Yatra’ in Fatehabad district where he was received by the youths on motorcycles.

On Tuesday, he passed through Pilimandori, Khabra Kalan, Kirdhan, Badopal, Gorakhpur and Nahla villages of this district.

Addressing a meeting at Bangaon village, Hooda said the Congress is the only party which always believes in ‘Chhattis Biradari’ (brotherhood among all castes).

“A majority of people in Haryana is disappointed with the BJP government. The ruling party has failed to keep the promises it had made to the people before the last elections,” Hooda said.

He added, “The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) claims to be the main opposition party in the state, but they are behaving as associates of the ruling party, which has pushed them out of the political reckoning.”

Reiterating his promise, Hooda said, “If voted to power, the Congress government will increase the old-age pension from Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,000. The elderly will get three notes, one pink and two green.”

Hooda also said drug menace is on the rise in Haryana and the BJP government has failed to rein in this evil. “I urge the youth not to fall in the trap of drugs as they destroy not only the youth but also their families”.
