HISAR: The Fatehabad police produced the 30-year-old man, accused of murdering his 25-year-old wife and four-yearold son on Sunday, to court on Monday, which sent him to oneday police custody.

The accused, Shravan Kumar, murdered his wife Rekha at 5 am on Sunday by hitting her head with a hammer and four-year-old son Dhruv by slitting his neck with an electric cutter at Haripura village of Haryana’s Fatehabad district.

Police said Kumar had frequent fights with his 25-year-old wife Rekha Rani as he suspected infidelity.

Now, the police will recover the hammer and electric cutter used in the murders.

Sources in the police said Kumar suspected that the child was not his son.

Talking to HT, Fatehabad deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Umed Singh said, “The accused was produced before a local court after medical examination from where he was remanded to one-day police custody. During interrogation, the accused told the police that his wife told him during an argument that he was not the father of her son. Raging over this, he killed the two.”

After killing Rekha and Dhruv, Kumar had informed his younger brother Vikram about the incident.

He also went to a railway crossing near Mehuwala village to commit suicide but some villagers who were chasing him, overpowered him and took him to the local police station.
