₹50L RELIEF TO KIN IN CASE OF DEATH OF STF COP ON DUTY

C HANDIGARH: The Haryana Police have decided to give an enhanced compensati­on of ₹50 lakh to the next-of-kin of those personnel of Haryana’s Special Task Force (STF) who lose their lives in the line of duty, according to director general (DG-Police Headquarte­r) KK Mishra.

Also, the wards of Haryana Police personnel who “die in any riots/action” will be given school fee reimbursem­ent of ₹1 lakh per annum upto four years, subject to a maximum limit of ₹4 lakh.

A police spokespers­on said that a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) was signed between the Haryana Police and the HDFC Bank on Wednesday, in this connection.

Further, DG Mishra said that as part of the agreement inked with the bank, the police personnel who suffers permanent disability would be given ₹30 lakh compensati­on and those who bear partial disability would get ₹5 lakh.

This facility has been introduced for the first time by the bank for the welfare of the injured cops.

Also, an insurance cover of ₹2 lakh, given to the nextof-kin of cops on their natural death, has been enhanced to ₹2.5 lakh. The condition of card swipe to make eligible the deceased employee for getting accidental death insurance cover of ₹30 lakh has also been removed.

Now as per the modified MoU, all cops would get ₹30 lakh in case of an accidental death and ₹2.5 lakh in case of natural death.
