Minor abducted, gangraped for four days, four booked

CRIME Victim was returning from school on July 27 when she was abducted, the accused took her to unknown location where they took turns to rape her

AMRITSAR : Four people were booked on Tuesday for allegedly abducting and raping a 14-yearold girl. The accused are Raman, his brother Rubi, Sukhdev Singh of Chamiyari village, falls under Ajnala police station and Randeep Singh of Galab village, falls under Ramdas police station.

In his complaint, victim’s father, of Chamiyari village said, “My daughter went to Senior Secondary School on July 27 but did not return. We searched for her but in vain.”

“On July 30, accused Sukhdev Singh called me and said my daughter was lying near petrol pump at Chamiyari-Khanowal road. On reaching there, I found my daughter unconsciou­s,” he said.

He said, “My daughter told me that while she was returning from school on July 27, the accused abducted her in their Mohindra Scorpio SUV and took her to unknown location where they took turns to rape her.”

Assistant sub-inspector Narpinder Singh said a case under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc), 376 (rape), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4, 6 of the POSCO Act has been registered.

He said, “Medical of the girl was conducted from Ajnala Civil hospital and the reports are awaited. Efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused.”

MAN BOOKED FOR RAPING DAUGHTER

TARNTARAN: A man was booked on Wednesday for allegedly raping his 23-year-old daughter in Toot village, falls in Patti sub-division.

The daughter-in-law had on June 15 filed a complaint but the police registered it against the father on Wednesday.

Police said registrati­on was delayed as the father-daughter duo were missing.

The complainan­t said, “My husband works as a truck driver and we are living separately from in-laws in Rupnagar. On June 8, I came to Toot village to meet in-laws and then I noticed my sister-in-law pregnant. She told me that her father had been raping her and he also got her fetus aborted.”

Station house officer Preetinder Singh said, “After the complaint, we visited the victim’s house to record her statement but no one was present. So, we contacted the complainan­t, who also said she was not aware about the father-daughter duo.”

“We visited the village too for conducting medical and recording statement of the victim but in vain. The complainan­t informed us that the accused father has taken his daughter somewhere else,” he said.

The SHO said a case under Sections 376 (rape), 313 (causing miscarriag­e without woman’s consent) and 201 (causing disappeara­nce of evidence of offence, or giving false informatio­n to screen offender) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

“Efforts are being made to find the father-daughter duo,” he added.
