Varsity, college staff to get 7th pay panel benefits: Abhimanyu
CHANDIGARH : The Haryana government has accorded approval for giving pay scales to the teaching and non-teaching staff of seven government universities, government colleges and government-aided colleges from January 1, 2016 as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission.
Stating that this would put an additional burden of ₹230 crore annually on the state exchequer, finance minister Captain Abhimanyu said in a release that with this decision, teaching and non-teaching staff working on 5,809 posts in universities and colleges would be benefited.
The number of teaching and non-teaching employees that would be benefited from the enhanced salary include 1,990 in government colleges; 2,956 in government-aided colleges; 332 in Kurukshetra University; 287 in MDU, Rohtak; 64 in Ch Devi Lal University, Sirsa; 12 in Ch Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani; 18 in Ch Ranbir Singh University, Jind; 116 in Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat and 34 in Indira Gandhi University, Rewari, he added.
He said that with the implementation of 7th pay commission, assistant professors of universities and colleges would get ₹57,700 to 79,800 whereas associate professors would get ₹1.31 lakh and professors would get ₹1.44 lakh to ₹1.82 lakh.
Similarly, assistant librarian of universities and colleges would get ₹57,700 to ₹68,900 and deputy librarian would get ₹79,800 to ₹1.31 lakh and librarian would get ₹1.44 lakh.
He said that while lecturers, physical education in universities and colleges and assistant director of sports department would get ₹57,700 to ₹68,900, deputy director would get ₹79,800 to ₹1.31 lakh and director would get ₹1.44 lakh.
He said that now, the registrar and controller of examination would get ₹1.44 lakh, subregistrar and sub-controller of examination would get ₹79,800, and assistant registrar and assistant controller of examination would get ₹56,100. Apart from this, pro vice-chancellor and vice-chancellor would also get pay scale as per the 7th pay commission, he added.
