52-yr-old woman, son arrested for realtor’s murder in Ggm

The mother of notorious criminal Rajesh, alias Gorkha, who is lodged in Bhondsi jail for the alleged murder of his realtor cousin Mahesh Kumar Yadav, was arrested by the Bajghera police from outside the Gururgam excise office building in Sector 38 on Friday evening on charge of murder conspiracy.

Following the arrest of 52-yearold Roshini, her younger son Devender, alias Deva, was also arrested by the police on Saturday morning.

The police said Roshini works in the excise department and they had received a tip-off that she had joined office on Friday for the first time after the incident.

On receiving the tip-off, two teams were formed and police personnel were deployed in plainclothes outside the excise department’s building.

The three accused were booked for the murder of Mahesh in Sarai Alawardi near Palam Vihar on July 18. Excise officials said Roshini is a peon in the East wing and holds the reputation of being a polite woman. Since the police came to the excise department without an arrest warrant, Roshini agreed to join the investigation. She and Devender were produced to the district court. Both were remanded to 14 days in judicial custody in Bhondsi jail, police said.

The deceased Mahesh was allegedly killed over a property dispute. On July 18, he was about to leave a bus stop after helping his nine-year-old twins and nephew board their school bus at 6.30am when the accused opened fire at him from a close range. Eyewitnesses told the police that four bullets were allegedly shot by Gorkha and two shots were fired by Devender.

Mahesh’s cousins, Gorkha and Devender, their mother Roshni and four other unidentified persons, were booked under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and a section of Arms Act. The case was registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP) since the crime was committed near a railway crossing.

Earlier on July 29, main accused Rajesh was arrested after a shoot-out on the Dwarka Expressway.
