SFJ a sham outfit trying to foment trouble in India: CM

CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday dismissed the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) rally in London as a futile exercise by a sham organisation to create trouble in India, particularly Punjab.

“The SFJ rally in London shows that Referendum 2020 has no support even outside India,” said the CM. “The Sikhs for Justice (SJF) is a group of fringe elements that are playing into the hands of Pakistan’s ISI to divide India, but they will continue to fail in their nefarious designs,” said Amarinder, adding, “The presence of Pakistani politicians at the rally confirms that it was an ISI plot, which fell through.”

‘UK SHOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED ANTI-INDIA CAMPAIGN ON ITS SOIL’

The Punjab CM further said that the UK government should have put its foot down and not allowed its soil to be used to propagate anti-India campaign.

Further castigating the UK government, Amarinder said that by allowing the protestors to use Trafalgar Square, instead of the usual Hyde Park, which is generally used for such events, it had shown its total complacency in the issue.

“The referendum business is a money-making racket of SFJ, with no takers for the so-called campaign either in India, or even outside, as is evident from the poor show at the rally,” he added.

Some of the Kashmiris were forced to wear turbans to make them look like Sikhs, said the chief minister, citing ground reports. “And the handful of Sikhs around had evidently been forced to come,” he added.

The CM warned SFJ and all anti-India forces to stay out of the country and refrain from any attempt to foment trouble in Punjab, or any other part of India.

“As a sinister conspiracy is hatched to revive militancy in Punjab, why are the BJP and Akali Dal mum? Why has the 56” Modi been stunned into a conspiratorial silence? Isn’t it a conspiracy to break the country?” Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala said in a tweet.
