DHARAMSHALA:Two days after the Shimla police booked former Congress MLA from Jawali Neeraj Bharti for alleged derogatory remarks against former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in a Facebook post, the Congress has filed a complaint against his successor Arjun Singh for issuing ‘death threats’ to Bharti and his family.

The complaint was filed by the Jawali block Congress on Wednesday at the local police station. In its complaint, the block Congress alleged that BJP legislator Arjun Singh issued death threats to Bharti while addressing a meeting of party workers at the Jawali rest house.

The Congress has also submitted a video-recording of the meeting to buttress charges against Singh. Jawali (DSP Gian Chand confirmed to have received the complaint. “We have received a complaint against the MLA and the video-recording is being analysed,” he said.

In the video, released by the Congress on the social media, Singh is seen issuing warning to Bharti stating that the Jawali BJP was capable of teaching former legislator a lesson. “Such derogatory remarks against former Prime Minister will not be tolerated. Bharti has not seen a real fight.

The Jawali BJP may take out his funeral procession at the local square,” Singh is seen as saying. He said that Bharti does not know what real beating is and when Bharti will suffer it, he will forget the language he used against Vajpayee. This not for the first time that Bharti was in thick of controversy. The BJP had raised the issue of his posting derogatory comments against PM Narendra Modi when he was CPS in the Virbhadra Singh-led government.
