Himachal CM confers awards on 20 teachers at Shimla function
SHIMLA : Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday honoured 20 teachers of the state with national and state level awards to mark Teacher’s Day at the Centre of Excellence, Government College Sanjauli.
He said teachers were real architects of the nation.
“Teachers should focus on value added education and students must also be taught to respect their values, culture and traditions. Thakur said the relation of a teacher and pupil is considered pious. The teachers were the builders of the nation since the solid foundation was laid by them as they imbibe high moral values among the students,” he said.
Jai Ram Thakur expressed concern over increasing tendency among youth towards use of drugs and other intoxicants.
The chief minister announced ₹15 lakh for renovation and repair of the roof of the building of government degree college Sanjauli. He also announced that girl’s college hostel will be constructed at the earliest.

National level awards were given to Sanjay Deshta of GSSS Lalpani, Janmjay Singh Guleria of Khanyara Khas, district Kangra and Meena Kumari of GSSS Mandi.
