GENTLENESS HAS THE STRENGTH TO OVERCOME ALL KINDS OF ADVERSITY
To be gentle is to be strong and yet loving and a true human being. The moment you say someone is gentle, you mean that the person is highly wise to be quiet, calm, trustworthy, and, most importantly, soft-spoken. He is essentially very kind and careful when it comes to dealing with others, particularly in adverse circumstances.
We are all worthy of being gentlepersons if we remind ourselves that we, as human beings, have the same feelings, aspirations and inhibitions. Therefore, instead of being harsh and cruel, we have to show kindness, love and sympathy towards others in all circumstances. That has to be the minimum bar to be a good person to be loved and respected by others.
As American pastor Ralph W Sockman had said, “Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as strength.” That means real strength lies in being gentle. A gentle person is in a position to settle things without losing much, and things go in his favour whenever there is a tough situation to deal with. A gentle smile and a few kind words can work wonders that no force can achieve.
In fact, as someone had said, gentleness overrides all other qualities, even being right. I would, therefore, say, gentleness is the seed of all good qualities that make us true human beings to fulfil our precious life’s mission on this planet.
