CHANDIGARH : The monsoon session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha beginning on Friday is likely to be stormy, with opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress prepared to corner the ruling BJP on various issues.

The three-day session is set to witness fireworks as both the opposition parties have announced that they would take the treasury benches to task over the cabinet decision to levy simple interest on farmers for return of land acquired under the Dadupur-Nalvi irrigation scheme, which was later denotified.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, leader of Opposition Abhay Chautala said the INLD would also raise the issue of land deal case involving Robert Vadra-owned Skylight Hospitality, Omkareshwar Properties and DLF, which was facilitated by the then Congress government.

“After sleeping on the VadraDLF land deal for four years, the BJP government has finally woken up now,” Chautala said.

said the government is yet to take any action on a number of irregularities and corrupt practices of the previous Congress government highlighted in a voluminous “chargesheet” prepared by the INLD and submitted to state governor.

He also decried an incident in which it was alleged that an offider ciating principal of a girls school in Kharkhoda in Sonepat district had been running a flesh trade by exploiting students with the help of a few teachers. The INLD, he said, would also raise the issue in the House.

Meanwhile, interacting with mediapersons in Karnal, former Haryana chief minister BhupinHe Singh Hooda said Congress legislators will take on the treasury benches over the issues of deteriorating law and order, rising fuel prices and broken roads. “The government has failed to ensure the safety of people as murder and rapes have become a routine affair. Also, the people are suffering due to skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel, which has resulted in price rise of other commodities”, he added.

Hooda also accused the BJP government in the state of implicating him in false cases by registering FIR against him and Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra for alleged irregularities in a Gurgaon land deal.

‘TRADERS TO OBSERVE STATE BANDH ON SEPT 8’

Meanwhile, Chautala said the INLD has called a statewide bandh by traders on September 8 to press for the demand for completion of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal and Dadupur Nalvi canal. They will also highlight various issues related to goods and services tax (GST), e-trading and demonetisation.

INLD will also raise the issue of land deal case involving Robert Vadraowned Skylight Hospitality, which was facilitated by the previous Congress government.
