COURAGE IS A VIRTUE THAT HELPS BRING OUT ALL OTHER QUALITIES
When we talk of someone being courageous, we mean that the person has the guts to do certain things that are good for all, and most of us shy away from doing so. The literary meaning of courage is the ability of a person to control fear in a situation that may be dangerous or unpleasant, which means the person may consciously undertake things that may cause him difficulties, even death. Such an individual stands out as a hero among us, and is respected and idolised. He never hesitates to stand up and speak what he thinks to be right and in favour of the society at large. And, if required, he is willing to sit down and listen to others, even his critics, and do the “needful.” At the root of courage is your love for humanity, and, as somebody had said, “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone gives you courage.” It does not require any great sacrifice; all that one has to do is to think positively and think about the purpose and mission of life. To understand how courage is the most important virtue among all other virtues, here’s a quote from American poet and activist, Maya Angelou, “Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently.” We, therefore, need to cultivate courage very consciously. One way is to be positive and hopeful which would resolve most of the issues that build up to make us hesitant and scared.
